  2. We will launch the Ask me Anything thread on our go-live date and email you a link. You will typically find many applicants asking questions on the launch date. We recommend being available for the first two hours of a post. After this point, you can respond on a less frequent basis: typically, we recommend blocking out twice a week.

How to run a successful thread

A successful thread is one that thousands of applicants will come back to in the future, whether they are preparing for a written application, an interview, or first hearing about the firm. The following tips will help to make your thread more successful:

1. Write in your own voice

One of the best parts of bringing a law firm to the forum is that they get to meet you, the person behind the firm. The way you write plays a substantial role in how students perceive you and the firm. The more you can write as you, the more likely students will build a connection with you and the law firm. We typically recommend writing as if you speaking to one candidate. What would you say? How would you break it down?

2. Be specific and detailed

The best way to stand out in your forum posts, to the extent that thousands of applicants will go back to the forum thread, is to be specific. Many websites are filled with phrases like ‘high-quality training’ or ‘cutting edge work’. The more concrete you can be in sharing what a law firm offers its trainees in practise, the more likely students will come back to the thread in the future.

We appreciate your biggest constraint is time. The best part of a forum thread is that you can respond at a time that is convenient to you. We typically recommend blocking out a time to respond to posts twice a week, where you have the ability to provide more detail. The more detail you provide, the more students will believe they can ask more questions, which will lead the thread to be more successful.

3. Provide examples

One of the easiest ways to connect with the audience in the forum is to provide an example. For example, suppose you were trying to explain how friendly the firm's culture is. If you could reflect on a time when the senior partner came to see you to check in on how you were doing, this would be an excellent example to prove how the culture is friendly.
